Perkasa will write to IGP over Umno, MCA communist links

Perkasa will send a letter to the inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar tomorrow, over concerns on Umno and MCA's ties to Communist Party of China (CPC).
Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali said cooperation between the two ruling parties with the CPC may lead to the spread of communism in the country.
"We are speechless because the CPC which is linked to the communist ideology is working with Umno.
"We have long faced communist in Malaysia, many lives were lost.
"Perkasa doesn't reject the possibility that the communist ideology would be spread and this would endanger the country," Ibrahim said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
In August 2010, Umno and the CPC agreed to have a youth leadership exchange programme to foster better mutual understanding on the economic and social development of both countries.
According to Bernama, the MOU was inked by Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, who said that the cooperation with the CPC was timely since China was now a major economic power.
Meanwhile, MCA had signed an agreement with the CPC on cooperation in education, culture, expertise, strategies and village development, among others.
Besides inculcating communism, Ibrahim said such tie-ups could encourage other associations to work with even more dangerous groups.
"Maybe other groups, such as parties or NGOs would have cooperation with the Islamic State or al-Qaeda because some others have a cooperation with the CPC," he said.

Meanwhile, on another matter, Ibrahim slammed PKR's push to make Anwar Ibrahim the next prime minister.
Ibrahim said Anwar was not morally fit for the post, and that PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli defending the move was "embarrassing".
"Rafizi likes to talk about transparent government, but Rafizi should know it's not just about being clean from corruption and abuse of power, but also in terms of moral and faith," he said.- Mkini
